Actually the room was cheap with comfy sofa as well as comfy chairs. As for me, the location was pleasant and cute, very close to staff, Maresfield, East Sussex and the pub. It also was in the area for a wedding in Buxted.
Facilities were excellent, nevertheless Wi-Fi was quite slow.

Very nice and helpful staff. Flexible late check in.
A la cart breakfast was recommended.
Cleanliness could have been a bit better in the bathroom.

Staff were particularly friendly and helpful, and the service quick and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable, and both room and bed were well-sized for the price.
The continental option at breakfast, whilst serviceable, wasn't up to the high standards of the rest of the inn - although I didn't try the Full English.

After two false starts (faulty rooms) we were given an enchanting, stylish luxurious suite. The staff were welcoming and very helpful and the food, both in the tap room and the restaurant was memorable.

My partner and I have nothing but praise and recommendation for the Chequers. We had a great time, the room was great, the food was very good indeed the only better food we have had recently is at another mpw place in London. Staff were attentive and friendly with special mention of Martin and Amelia, a credit to the business.
Floorboards above noisy Bath not ideal for showering with the rounded floor some marking on the bed linen dark stairwell Wifi not working in room no disposable slippers no dressing gowns we would have liked some (soft) background music over dinner

Good personal and prompt attention. Informative of locality and taxis etc.
I would have preferred a shower instead of the bath but no complaints of the facilities.

Charming, charming, charming.
The historical architecture. I adored the quirky exposed timber roof in the restaurant-it added such character. Plus, the outdoor garden area was the perfect spot to unwind with a refreshing drink after a day of exploring.
Strongly recommend 💖🌟

Historical charm with a cozy atmosphere
I stayed for one night in a lovely double room, and the historic building adds character to the experience. The staff were attentive and friendly. Enjoyed a delicious breakfast with a variety of options to choose from, and the comfortable garden area was a nice spot to relax. One downside was the noise from the pub late at night, which could be a little disruptive for light sleepers.
